The British Liberal Party was really a one-man party, and so when coinciding with the By-Election victory a new party manifesto proposing a 5-year genetic rehabilitation of British criminals to abolish the penitentiary system (among other outrageous suggestions) was released, it was up to Chamberlain to provide justification for his manifesto at the yearly party conference at the Scarborough Spa.
I sent Ryouta to the party conference, who through Alice provided security at the event. However, I did not want to wait until they were back to experience the event from their perspective so I had to make do with the tele. Next to me also stood my maid, Rina.
The conference was held at an outside venue. Chamberlain stood with his back to the Yorkshire coast. The event was filmed from multiple angles, and so it was clear that as usual he didn’t have any notes or teleprompters to help him. The audience presence was mostly party members, nevertheless this event would be seen live across the country.
There was a slight cult-like tendency with most members of the party carrying the little blue booklet containing the party manifesto in their breastpockets.
“I’d like to start by saying something very simple.
Thank you.
Thank you to you, our Party, our members, our supporters, the people who week in, week out do the work, take the flak but don’t often get the credit.
Thank you, the British Liberal Party for giving me the extraordinary privilege of leading you these past 12 years.
I know I look a lot older.
That’s what being leader of the Party does to you.
Actually, looking around some of you look a lot older.
That’s what having me as leader of the Party does to you.
I may have taken the country to the British Liberal Party but it was you that let me take the Party, so thank you.
Something I don’t say often enough – thank you to my family.
You taught me that most of politics isn’t about politics, in the sense of meetings, resolutions, speeches or even Parties.
It starts with people.
It’s about friendship, art, culture, sport.
It’s about being a fully paid up member of the human race before being a fully paid up member of the Party.
But above all else, I want to thank the British people who have given me this mandate.
With all that said, now is not the time to look backwards. It is always the time to look forward.
The victories of our party still pale in comparison to the decline of the country we inherited from our predecessors.
There is much yet to be done.
Some have accused me of wanting to deny the humanity of prisoners through brainwashing. On the contrary, we will be bringing humanity to criminals when before there was none.
In other words the only alternative to my policy is the reintroduction of the death penalty out of necessity. Some have said that altering the genomes of criminals is a form of genocide but that is a lie. In fact those who are against the policy, are the cause of national decline, and the final result of national decline is genocide.
Some others, former members of our party, traitors it has to be said, have accused us of ethnic cleansing because most criminals in our prisons which we inherited and thus most of those who will be genetically redesigned and retrained with AI will be members of ethnic minorities in our party and country. These traitors clearly do not believe in equality but simply desire to have around them servants and prisoners so that they can look down on them. They do not desire the true friendship of humanity which can only exist on equal terms and on which our party and thus liberalism are based on.
Between equality and diversity we must choose equality.
We British Liberals must also grow up from childish notions of natural law and free will or the Will of History. No, the reason why History has taken its current course is not because of some law of history we British Liberals have willed it. Every evil and every good in the world is our responsibility and result. There was essentially nothing before us that did not lead to us and there will be nothing after us because we will rule forever in a future that is both eternal and free and created by our own hands. There is no point in blaming the other party because history and destiny is truly in our own hands, they are mere ungrateful reactionaries who have temporarily benefited from our good and at the expense of others, and therefore do not want to abandon their advantages for the future that is both bright and eternal.
The move to introduce mass genetic engineering of criminals is matched with a total opening of Britain’s borders. As a civilising force of humanity Britain has a duty to speed up the natural selection which happened in Europe during medieval times when Europe had a crime rate similar to that of the third world.
That the reason the older liberal parties failed and mine will succeed is because of our total embrace of progress and of Britain’s special place in history since the industrial revolution as the guiding light of humanity which will drag the rest of humanity kicking and screaming to the next step in human history.
The only path to truth and true equality is through the pursuit of absolute superiority and ever greater nobility. Evil is cruelty for its own sake, or in other words it is stupid. Most crimes occur as a result of lack of intelligence because it requires intelligence.
The reason for crime is demoralisation and the reason—
Some might say that I have broken some piddling law regarding human rights but remember such rights were created by Liberals to serve the interests of humanity.
Vox Dei. Vox Populi.
Finally we have been accused by some religious relics who are more in love with their power, and ability to control their inferiors like a herd, than with their people. To them I say that if such things as souls and Gods are necessary then we only need to create God and the human soul.”
Chamberlain raises his hand towards the sun in front of him.
“The World is in the palm of my hand and your gentlemen, deceiving the laws of the universe means nothing to us.
Genetics are just long term environmental consequences, so in fact there is no difference between indirectly changing people’s genetics by changing their environments or directly editing their genes.
We created the world so we must create it again.
Only our Faustian English Liberal soul can break the meaningless cycles of history of the rise and fall of equally worthless agglomerations of power, in order to create something genuinely new because only we have chosen agency and the freedom in history while the rest have chosen to be obedient slaves to the laws of this universe. We write those laws and so do our people by voting at the ballot box.
It is not some worthless dialectic or fate that led us to this point, only we made it happen!
There is in fact no end to history because we the party of Labour must walk onwards and onwards towards the eternal world revolution and true progress!”
There were a few who clapped, mostly his cabinet ministers who must have been in on this. The rest of the party members soon followed. But there was something else that I noticed in the crowd. Two familiar figures to be more precise.
Chamberlain himself wiped his sweating forehead with a handkerchief which Helen Stilton, his secretary (and daughter) had given him. He pushed back some greying locks of hair, and readjusted his pink tie. Then he glanced up towards the bright sun blaring down on him.
“I am glad that you are not immediately accepting my words.. Our movement is based on reason and collective leadership rather than blind faith and obedience to a leader. This is why Britain’s open society will defeat all her inferior aspirants… In the spirit of openness I have invited some of our party’s critics to speak to us. Please welcome Lady Ashley Tanaka who is the head of the parliamentary committee investigating claims of human experimentation of our government, and Eilis Grangewood leader of the Elite Faction in Albion Online.”
